A project that began in the fall of 2007, the first members of Phonofield met shortly after Radiohead’s release of In Rainbows. Spurred on by a common conviction to create music that was fresh yet true to their millenial rock sensibilities, Phonofield have built a unique yet familiar sound. They have been compared to Radiohead, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, and Mogwai, although none of those comparisons really matter at all. In the summer of 2009, two members parted ways with the band, and Phonofield became three. Now to embrace more freedom in instrumentation, song structure, and minimalism, Phonofield embarks on a new journey…
